A few days in London and we’re done with our month-long European tour. It was a life changing experience.
There was one constant thread of conversation through out our trip - one observation that I had to express at least once during our meals: we’re all really human beings.
Before leaving the US for the first time, I naively believed that I would feel hopelessly lost every second of this trip. I could not have been more wrong.
99.8% of the people that helped us were sincere and had good hearts. We would notice a more genuine warmth as we gravitated towards the more working class, non-tourist neighborhoods. People are proud of their neighborhoods and want to show how meaningful their work is.
On a a slightly higher than basic level, people just want to be happy - to find jobs they love, support their families, listen to live music on the street, get the freshest langoustines, people watch while sipping espressos, argue about politics, dig their toes into sand and make out like a meteor is about to hit the Earth (Paris, I’m looking at you).
I’d also like to thank Liana for twisting my arm to go for 6 years (lol). She planned the ENTIRE trip and she was the most patient, forgiving, loving & generous travel partner I could have ever asked for. Thanks for this gift sweetheart.
Our vacation after our vacation starts tonight with a week in New York. If you’re in the area, I’d love to hang out. I’m going to eat so many dumplings.
P.S. To get your mp3’s to show up as enclosures in Wordpress 1.5+ just upload them somewhere and then just insert a normal HTML link to that mp3 in your post. Wordpress should automatically put an RSS enclosure entity into your RSS feed for ya! plink!
MAN THIS WAS 7 ***YEARS*** AGO. ( none of the links work btw :P )
Good times, good times.
